Too much money is being spent on preserving the old part of town
It is a well-known fact, that nowadays an enormous amount of money is being spent on preserving the old part of town. Old buildings in these parts are very often renovated. Many people think it is right, but others do not agree. Let`s consider some pros and cons of it.One argument in support of this is that by preserving the old part of town, we save unique architecture and inheritance of the past times. The old buildings have more art values than modern buildings, due to its historical nature. The old buildings decorate a city and link the modern times to the past. What is more, the old buildings in the past could be residences of famous people as writers, musicians. Furthermore, one should not forget that the old town is a famous tourist attraction, which increase visitors, what is increase local economy.
The most common argument against is that it is better to spend money on building new houses and road development, in order to improve of every-day people`s life and to create new places for living, considering the growing pace of urbanization
To draw the conclusion, one can say that preserving the old part of town is the way to save our history and it is more economical than to build new parts of city, but without development a new parts of town we will not have any progress in the cities at all. Of course, the young generation have respectful to old history, but there always must be a place for compromise.
